When it comes to your first dance, are you worried about awkwardly shuffling in a circle whilst everyone watches you? Would you like to learn some basic steps to get you through, or even a full routine to amaze and delight everyone at your wedding?

Whatever your needs, Our First Dance can help you. It doesn’t matter if you have two left feet or have dance ability, we are experts in teaching dance and creating routines that make you look and feel confident!

About Me

Hello! Thanks for dropping by and congratulations on your wedding! I have been a dance teacher and choreographer for 28 years, ever since doing my work experience at Clifton’s Dance Academy (owned by the parents of Kevin and Joanne Clifton from Strictly).

I completed a degree in dance at Bretton Hall, college of the University of Leeds and achieved a Grade 1 PGCE specialising in Performing Arts. I was the principal of Footworks Dance Co. in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire for almost a decade and have been Head of Dance at Theatre Schools in Berkshire and Lincolnshire.

I have choreographed professional productions including Grimsby’s spectacular pantomimes starring Frazer Hines, Lee Brennan from 911, Mark Little and Brendan from Coach Trip. I have choreographed countless routines for thousands of dancers of all levels.

I would love to help you to gain confidence for your first dance!

Services

Bronze - Group lessons

Couple can attend a group lesson to learn general choreography to any music. Sessions are one hour long and cost £45 per couple. Details of dates and booking here

Silver - Private lesson - General Choreography

The same choreography is taught as the group session but in a private session, one couple at a time, one hour costs £100 per couple.

Gold - Private lesson - Bespoke Choreography

Using your chosen song, Alison will work with you to create a bespoke routine, tailored to you. Sessions are one hour and includes choreograpy, a practice video and two additional fifteen minute FaceTime/Zoom rehearsals £150.

Add ons

Music editing

Choose your own music and have it cut to a suitable length, or edit several songs together. Prices start from £50.

Room hire

Room hire is included in private lessons. To hire a larger space or travel to your venue, contact us for a quote. Some venues provide this service for free if you are marrying there.

Group choreography - Flash mob

The sky is the limit! It doesn’t just have to be the happy couple who gets to dance! Group routines, flash mobs, you name it, we choreograph it! Room hire is necessary for this so it is best to check with your venue first. Cost is £200 per hour.

Group sessions are

7:00-8:00pm

once a month at Oaklands Hall Hotel. The bar will be open so what better way to spend date night! Please pre-book as spaces are limited.
